Dryad Ahri

Skin concept for Ahri of League of Legends, for an art contest which ended today. Wish me luck! [link]

Animations:
Q: Vines follow the orb, and towards the end pull the ball back to Ahri
W: Sakura petals which unleash in a whirlwind initially, and then rush to their targets
E: Not sure on this one, had a friend suggest a pollen explosion
R: Vine trail with leaves and sakura petals left behind

The idea here was to try and create a forest nymph skin for Ahri which would accurately portray both her character and the mythology of the dryads the skin represents. It was a difficult challenge since Dryads invoke feelings of purity and innocence, whereas Ahri is a predatorial seductress. The line inbetween the two I felt would be drawn at what they both had in common: mystery, mischief, and allure, so I tried to emphasize these aspects along with the nature theme of the picture. Sakura petals were added in to keep to the Asian theme which Ahri follows.

Probably the most time I've spent on a single painting. My wrists hurt (96 hours or so, many of which were done in 14 hour sessions) >_>.
